Is Universal Orlando Resort Kids Friendly? Part 2

My last post was about all the kid friendly stuff there is to do at Islands of Adventure. Today I am going to write about the other park, Universal Studios Florida.

As many people know, Islands of Adventure is more outside where as Universal Studios is more inside. This is always good as to escape the Florida heat but this is also good if you are brining little ones to the park. Being able to get a overly hot child inside where it is cool, might be the one thing that saves your entire day at the park.

There are some great rides , attractions and shows to explore so that that is what we are going to do :)

First lets start with some family rides. One of my favorites is Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.  It is a simulator ride but there is also a row up seat up front for those that are  under 40 inches and are not able to ride in the moveable seats. At the end of the ride, there is a minion dance party where you can meet minions and sometime even Gru will stop by.

If you little one is up some adventure and at least 40 inches. Try Transformers and The Simpsons Ride. Both are simulator rides and can be a little intense for younger children.  For Transformers, you are in a ride vehicle trying to save the all spark. Some parts makes you feel like you are driving on a real road and then there is a big drop at the end but don't worry someone is there to save you!

The Simpsons Ride is the same thing but has the crude Simpson's humor so might not be for everyone. There is more movement and makes you feel like you are on a broken roller coaster, flying through the air  and even a part where you are free falling. There is a bad guy going after you so might not be for everyone!

There is one ride that has the shortest height requirement, ET is the only original ride left at Universal Orlando. It is a classic for a reason. You board your bike and take off to help ET save his home planet. Great for everyone in the whole family and you only have to be 34 inches to ride!

Once you kids are done with their big adventures, head off to Woody's Kids Zone. Here you can find Fivel's Playland, Woody Woodpeckers Nuthouse Coaster, Curious George play area and A Day in the Park with Barney.

Fivel's Playland is so much fun for children of all ages, There are slides, water features to keep little ones cooled off, rope courses and more.  There is even a toboggan ride where you get in a little boat and  ride down a slide to the bottom!

The next adventure that you get to is the Woody Woodpecker Nuthouse Coaster. This is a family rollercoaster that is a lot of fun for those 36 inches or taller. You have to ride with an adults if you are under 56 inches!

Then comes come of my favorite places. Curious George. This area is so much fun. It is in the very back of the kids area and many people don't realize that it is even there. There are a number of splash pads where little ones can play and get wet, a little playset for the littlest ones, but the best part is the ball area in the back building. You can suck up soft nerf  balls and can shoot them at other people. It is loads of fun. Also if you really want to cool off there are huge buckets that drop water. It is nice on a really hot day. Just remember that you might want to bring a change of clothes to keep from having meltdowns later!

Lets not forget a very special play area for those under 32 inches. At the end of the A Day in the Park with Barney show, there is a play area that is air conditioned.  There is a little tree house that has a slide. But one of my favorite things in this area are the stepping stones! When you step on some they are all animal noises where if you step on another set it is like a piano.  Great place to allow little ones to relax and play!

Animal Actors on Location: This is a great show for people of all ages. These furry friends are shelter animals that have been adopted and trained to work in movies! The show is very interactive and is a great place to sit and relax on a hot day. After the show make sure that you stop by and say hi to some of the animals and trainers! The theater is located right outside of the kids zone

Super Star Parade: This daytime parade is fun for all ages group. This is a parade/street party as the floats stop in certain areas along the parade route and dance!! It is loads of fun! One of my favorite place to view the parade and where these photos were taken was over in Hollywood right in front of the La Bamba's restaurant.

Super Star Character Breakfast : To many kids, meeting your favorite characters is an important part of a theme park experience. This breakfast features many kids favorites including minions and Gru, Sponge Bob and Patrick, The Hop Bunny, Dora and Diego! With your breakfast experience the characters will come to your table in a nice air conditioned restaurant and interact and take pictures! AND you also will receive a VIP viewing of the parade!

Other Characters: Universal has a number of different characters that roam the park including Scooby Doo and Shaggy, The Simpsons, MIB agents, Marilyn Monroe, Hello Kitty, Curious George, Winnie and Woody Woodpecker and more! You can find out times on the back of the park maps!

So as you can see Universal Studios Resort Florida is for everyone!
